I have a confession to make. I’m a carb junkie and I’ve been eating too many fried foods as of late *hangs head in shame*. Have you ever eaten too many salty, fatty foods and been unable to get the taste out of your mouth? No? Just me? Well, anyway, with all of the french fries and pizza, I’ve been working my way toward a delicious and healthy salad. Tonight, it happened! And I have the steak to prove it!
Wash the lettuce. I like Romaine.
Dry it off! I’d really like
one of those salad spinners. I swear they’re one the most genius inventions ever.
I used a thin cut steak and seasoned both sides with black pepper, garlic powder and Spicy Montreal Steak seasoning.
Place steak on broiler pan and put in the broiler for about 8 minutes MAX! (I cooked mine longer and it wasn’t nearly as tender as I’d have liked it to be. Mistakes are made in the kitchen daily, though LOL)
The steak, cut, after sitting for about 5 minutes. Never cut meat after immediately removing from heat, because it’s actually still cooking once taken off of the heat. Interesting, right?
I added in some beautiful cherry tomatoes, red peppers and cucumbers. I even topped it off with some fresh pecorino romano and parmesan cheeses and croutons!! Yummy!
